Mac Miller is one of the most buzzed about newcomers in hip-hop today. I got to talk with the young Pittsburgh MC about his rise to fame and why him and label-mate Wiz Khalifa don’t have many songs together.

Usually I’m the one doing the interviews. This time a young champion by the name of Jack who has a blog, Imagination Detonation (he is only 17!) asked me to meet up with him to talk about how I got started doing interviews, my love for hip-hop culture, and the future of Jabari Presents.

Who?: Jabari Johnson is fresh out of college, embarking on a new creative journey in his web series of “Jabari Presents.” Already several episodes in, the results are certainly impressive. Before this, Jabari did a ton of interviews with a lot of music artists ranging from Nicki Minaj to RZA (of Wu-Tang) to Justin Beiber.

Tales of the Visual: Jabari and I met in Central Park a few weeks ago to discuss everything from his start with interviewing, his love for hip hop, why he decided to take it to the next level with Jabari Presents, and much more. It’s always great to meet someone else who does conversations/interviews and see the similarities and differences in their methods and style.
