Cover songs are nothing new, but the amount of people who have gained notoriety for good great cover songs of our favorite hits is rising at an all time high it seems
Of course this is not a golden ticket into the music industry but if you can remake, remix, or re-sing a record that is already a hit and make it better, your chances of having the masses hear you are much greater (if you can crank these out often then your chances really skyrocket). Of course covers are not for every artist but with the amount of musicians trying to break into the industry it is definitely food for thought.
Remember you have to make the song better than the original, or put an interesting spin on it, otherwise you’ll end up like that “I Love You Brother” guy on American Idol.
